Problem-based learning in research method courses: development, application and evaluation

Background: The undergraduate curriculum in Indonesia generally requires students to take a research methods course as prerequisite for the preparation of scientific reports. The objective this is teach how present results both orally and writing using styles forms each university. However, not popular among because material complex technical. As result, there gap between learning outcomes their application when prepare Improving pedagogy teaching interventions through student-developed projects important complementing lectures. purpose study was analyze improvement students' ability reports method courses problem based (PBL). Methods: This integration report PBL at Universitas Islam Bandung Indonesia. implemented by involving research-related tasks with following stages: questions, determining design, collecting data, analyzing presenting results. Results: showed that an increase skills good categories on indicators possible plagiarism Turnitin, use formats, suitability literature, mastery content in-class presentations. Conclusions: finding implies assigning write classroom useful improving outcomes, presentation, reasoning, communication, ambiguous problem-solving, reducing plagiarism. findings strengthen previous researchers, namely abilities formatting reports, appropriate mastering materials well level plagiarism.
